Amherst County's Caitlyn Baxter carded seven birdies en route to a 3-under 68 at Winton Farm; Liberty Christian shot 297 to win at Colonial Hills, while Brookville captured the Winton Farm team title.

Greater Lynchburg's high school golf schedule continued Monday with separate four-team matches at Winton Farm and Colonial Hills.

At Winton Farm, Brookville captured the team title with a 329, finishing 12 shots ahead of Jefferson Forest. Amherst County senior Caitlyn Baxter continued her unbeaten start to the season, shooting a 3-under-par 68 to earn medalist honors.

At Colonial Hills, Liberty Christian returned to the top of the team leaderboard, shooting 297 to defeat E.C. Glass by 10 shots. LCA's Logan Walker shot an even-par 71 to earn medalist honors, one shot ahead of E.C. Glass Nikko Guanzon.

Brookville Wins at Winton Farm; Baxter Shoots 68

Brookville put three golfers under 90 and four at 91 or better to post a team score of 329. Jackson Maschal led the Bees with a 3-over 74, Caeth McAndrews shot 79, J.P. Newman added an 87 and Noah Daniel's 89 completed the four counting scores.

Jefferson Forest finished second at 341, led by Eric Sprinkle's 84 and Collin Hamrick's 85. Will Carson and Easton Long each shot 86.

Liberty-Bedford finished third at 347 behind Jayce Macaioni's 79, while Amherst County finished fourth at 351.

The quad had been expected to bring together two of the area's top players in Amherst County's Caitlyn Baxter and Jefferson Forest's Conner Lamanna, but that anticipated matchup didn't materialize. Lamanna was competing in an American Junior Golf Association event in Richmond after shooting even par and finishing second in Sunday's qualifier to earn a spot in the tournament. A weather-related two-hour delay prevented him from returning in time to join his Jefferson Forest teammates at Winton Farm.

The day's lowest score belonged to Caitlyn Baxter. She shot a 3-under 68, six shots better than Maschal, to earn medalist honors.

LCA Answers at Colonial Hills

Liberty Christian bounced back from its first team loss of the season with another sub-300 performance.

Logan Walker led the Bulldogs with an even-par 71, Tanner Hesse shot 74, Baylor Ritter added a 75 and Matthew Stephens shot 77. Those four rounds produced a 297, giving LCA a 10-shot victory over E.C. Glass.

Nikko Guanzon continued his strong play for Glass with a 1-over 72. John Sorenson shot 76, Bax Wolanski added a 77 and Preston Laughon's 82 completed the Hilltoppers' 307.

Rustburg finished third at 367, while Heritage finished fourth at 383.
