Bedford County Hosts Grand Opening Ceremony for Animal Shelter Expansion

(Bedford, VA)—Bedford County invites members of the media and key stakeholders to attend a grand opening ceremony on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 10 a.m.**, to celebrate the newly completed expansion of the Bedford County Animal Shelter.

 Over the past year, the Bedford County Animal Shelter has doubled in size. The 3,000-square-foot addition to the existing facility includes 40 new dog kennels, a cat/kitten observation room, an expanded lobby area, and outdoor dog runs.

 The event will take place at the Bedford County Animal Shelter (1307 Falling Creek Rd., Bedford) and will include remarks from county officials and project partners.
