Bedford County Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for Animal Shelter Expansion

Bedford County invites members of the media and key stakeholders to attend a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10 a.m., to mark the official start of construction on the Bedford County Animal Shelter expansion.

 This project will add a 3,000-square-foot addition to the existing facility, including 40 new dog kennels, significantly increasing the shelter’s capacity. The new addition also includes space for a spay/neuter clinic.

 The event will take place at the Bedford County Animal Shelter (1307 Falling Creek Rd., Bedford) and will include remarks from county officials and project partners.
