(Bedford, VA)—Bedford County Parks & Recreation invites the community to attend the Thrive Outside Festival, a free, family-friendly, dog-friendly event celebrating outdoor recreation, wellness, and community connection sponsored by Centra Health and Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine. The festival will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Falling Creek Park (1257 County Farm Rd., Bedford).
Designed to encourage residents and visitors to explore the outdoors and discover local resources, the Thrive Outside Festival will feature a wide variety of activities and exhibitors. Attendees can enjoy outdoor recreation opportunities, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and interactive experiences for all ages.
The event will include:
Local vendors and exhibitors
- Outdoor recreation activities and demonstrations
- Workshops focused on health, wellness, and homesteading
- Family-friendly games and kids’ activities
- Food trucks and community gathering spaces

The festival brings together local businesses, farms, outfitters, camps, clubs, healthcare providers, and nonprofit organizations, all focused on helping individuals and families find ways to stay active, healthy, and engaged outdoors.
“This event is all about connecting our community with the resources and opportunities available right here in and around Bedford County,” said Lee Wittekind, Outdoor Events & Outreach Coordinator for Bedford County Parks & Recreation. “We want people to leave inspired to get outside, try something new, and thrive in their everyday lives.”
The Thrive Outside Festival is free and open to the public.
