Greater Lynchburg Sees Summer Real Estate Activity

The Greater Lynchburg area experienced a stretch of real estate transactions recently, with notable medium-value home sales and movement across all surrounding counties. For the third consecutive week, most home sales were in the mid to lower price range. Five properties in Lynchburg sold for less than $25,000.

In the City of Lynchburg, the top property sale was lot 10 section D, Linkhorne Forest purchased by Luke and Kaitlyn McKay for $460,000. Another was a home at Lot 14, block 3, Oaklawn addition for $315,000.

Amherst County saw its highest transaction with the sale of lots 32 and 33 in Trents Ferry Landing for $450,000. Another significant purchase was a 221.50-acre parcel off Va. 130, which sold for $300,000. A home at 1355 Dixie Airport Road sold for $205,000, illustrating that both premium and mid-range sales are driving the county’s market.

In Appomattox County, the top spot went to 583 Corafield Lane, selling for $335,000. Following closely was lot 27 in Cannon Oaks Subdivision at $297,900, and a property at 5532 Watt Abbitt Road selling for $284,000. These transactions reflect ongoing interest in both established neighborhoods and rural properties.

Bedford County’s highest sale was a parcel in Horton Subdivision, purchased for $575,000. Other notable deals included a home in Glenbrooke, lot 44, which sold for $485,000, and lot 17 in Ivy Hill, bringing in $470,000. With a mix of lakefront, suburban, and rural properties, Bedford remains one of the region’s most diverse housing markets.

Campbell County’s largest sale was lot 8 in Federal Hill Estates, which closed at $595,000. Other major transactions included lot 22 in Nottingham Forest at $395,000 and a home at 51 Treasure Court, which sold for $376,200.

Building permits in Bedford County showed robust construction activity. The most expensive permit was for a new dwelling at 1036 Huckleberry Lane, valued at $600,000. Other high-value permits included a $553,000 home on Maple Hill Lane and a $450,000 home on Cedar Tree Lane. Multiple $300,000 permits were issued for Westyn Village townhomes, while a $169,933 kitchen remodel at 119 Tradewind Terrace highlighted strong homeowner investment in upgrades.
