Clean Sweep for Many: Weekly Food Inspection Results In

The first full week of July brought a relatively clean bill of health to many of Greater Lynchburg’s food establishments, with nine businesses earning perfect scores during routine health inspections. Among them were familiar names like Dunkin', Domino's, Vito’s Pizza, and Tradewinds Subs & Deli. Mobile vendors such as County Smoak Cater and Vito’s Pizza Mobile units also landed in the no-violation column, suggesting consistency in food safety practices across both brick-and-mortar and on-the-go setups.

At the other end of the spectrum, no establishment racked up more than six violations — a reassuring sign for diners. The highest count came from Brookneal EZN, which registered six violations during a routine inspection. Several national chains, including Papa Johns, Waffle House, and Auntie Anne’s & Cinnabon, received between three and five violations, mostly minor.

Also worth noting were several follow-up and pre-opening inspections, including checks at Summit Health and Rehab, Super 8, Bella Vita, and Coach Que BBQ. As always, these visits play a key role in ensuring consistent health standards before doors open or licenses are renewed.

Of the 31 inspections conducted, 24 were routine, four were follow-ups, two were pre-opening reviews, and one fell under the “other” category.
