Deals of the Week: Lynchburg Area Real Estate Recap

The Greater Lynchburg area real estate market witnessed a mix of high-end residential sales and steady mid-range transactions across the city and surrounding counties.

In the City of Lynchburg, the most expensive home sold was a Waterton property, where Todd W. and Anne M. Stinson sold Lot 10, Section II to Michael T. and Amanda N. Hall for $813,000.

A James River Place condominium followed, with Richard Wayne Loving and Robin McCraw Loving, trustees, selling Unit 3 West to Evangelin A. Maxwell for $630,000. Another notable transaction included D.S. Zechini Construction Inc. sold 88 Clopton Court to Larke W. Riordan Living Trust for $596,900.

In Bedford County, luxury sales also topped the list. Preston Allen Cure sold Lot 7, Section 4 in Greer’s Ford Shores Subdivision to Patrick and Laura McKenzie for $931,000, while David Higbee Smith sold Lot 9, Section 7 in Farmington at Forest to Erich R. and Amy J. Maier for $771,357.

Edward Hannon sold Lot 11 in Pebble Brook to Steven Randall Collins and Candice Chapman-Collins for $768,000.

Campbell County’s highest sale was a $540,000 transaction, with Nicholas Scott Rankins and family selling 95 Rhage Lane to Aaron Matthew Emerick and Miriam Mendez-Parra. Ryan W. and Angelina E. Worsham sold 9790 Bear Creek Road to Jason C. and Kaitlyn M. Brown for $420,000, and Jonathan Lee and Kaelin Alyssa Collett sold 151 Bellwood Drive to Mary C. Hughes for $400,000.

Appomattox County saw its top home sale at $355,000 when Shiela M. Roper and Sharon K. Bryant sold a parcel on Va. 615 to Greg S. Hendricks. Melissa Jacobs Childress sold Lot 3 in the Church & Sunnydale Subdivision to Mark A. and Deborah S. Rizzio for $349,900, and Dylan James Sligh sold 605 Beeks Lane to Matthew and Ellis LaVonna Lucie for $344,000.

In Amherst County, Wiley V. Johnson III sold Lot 41, Section II in Hans Hill Estates to Douglas M. and Cheryl R. Deets for $700,000. Other leading sales included Sunnyside Builders & Development LLC selling Lot 51 in Ridgeview Terrace Subdivision to Anna Kostal Stinson and Brandon Stinson for $315,000, and Bruce Cook selling Lot 78, Block B in Lakeview Subdivision to George Ford for $290,000.

Building permits showed continued investment across the region, with Store Capital Acquisitions LLC obtaining a $975,000 permit for a new commercial building on Rangoon Road. Residential growth was led by Nicholas Cheatham, who secured a $650,000 permit for a new dwelling on Red Oak School Road, and Appalachian Power Company, which was approved for a $650,000 telecommunications tower on Mount Athos Road.
