Beijing One Leads This Week’s Health Inspection Total with 11
The Central Virginia Health District has released its latest food establishment inspection reports covering inspections conducted January 20–24, 2026, with routine inspections accounting for the majority of activity and a smaller number of follow-up and other inspections completed during the period.
Inspection activity continued to rebound following the holiday slowdown. Routine inspection violation totals ranged from zero to eleven, while follow-up inspections focused on confirming corrections from previously cited violations rather than generating new totals.

Highest Violation Total This Week
Beijing One Cited for 11 Violations During Routine Inspection
Beijing One Inc.
12130 E. Lynchburg–Salem Turnpike, Suite 6 Forest, VA 24551
Full-Service Restaurant | Routine Inspection
Beijing One Inc. recorded the highest routine inspection violation total of the week, with 11 violations cited during a food safety inspection conducted on January 22.
Inspectors documented multiple issues related to temperature control, food storage order, labeling, sanitation, and facility maintenance, with several violations requiring immediate corrective action and others scheduled for correction by February 1, 2026.
Key Violations and Observations
Inadequate Handwashing Facilities
The handwashing sink in the restroom was only able to reach 57°F, indicating that hot water was not properly connected. Handwashing sinks must provide warm water to ensure effective hand hygiene. Management stated the issue would be corrected by February 1.
Improper Food Storage Order
Raw shrimp was observed stored above cut zucchini in a prep unit, and unwashed produce was stored above ready-to-eat foods in the walk-in cooler. Items were rearranged during the inspection to prevent cross-contamination.
Improper Cooling and Cold Holding
Fried rice stored in the walk-in cooler measured 54°F and was reportedly prepared the day before. The rice was discarded. Battered chicken left on a prep counter measured 63°F after being out of temperature control for several hours and was moved to refrigeration.
Lack of Date Marking
Numerous food items held longer than 24 hours were not date marked. Management indicated a date-marking system will be implemented by February 1.
Unlabeled and Improperly Stored Food
Multiple bulk containers and cook-line ingredients lacked labels. Several foods—including produce, cooked meats, cracked eggs, and dry goods—were stored uncovered or directly on the floor throughout the kitchen, walk-in cooler, and freezer.
Improper Utensil and Container Use
Plastic to-go cups were used as scoops inside bulk ingredient containers. Items were removed, and management indicated handled scoops will be used going forward.
Facility and Structural Issues
Cooked foods were stored in cardboard boxes inside a refrigerator, and the restroom lacked a self-closing door, both of which violate food safety and facility standards.
Food Temperature Findings
Inspectors recorded a mix of compliant and non-compliant temperatures, including:
- Fried rice (rice cooker): 156°F (hot holding)
- Egg drop soup: 171°F (hot holding)
- Cooked chicken (refrigerated): 36°F
- Cooked shrimp (prep unit): 37°F
- Fried rice (walk-in, cooling): 54°F (corrected)
- Battered chicken (counter): 63°F (corrected)
Items outside acceptable temperature ranges were either discarded or moved to proper cold holding during the inspection.
Positive Findings
Despite the violations, inspectors also noted several areas of compliance:
- A person in charge was present and demonstrated food safety knowledge
- Certified Food Protection Managers were on site
- Employee health policies and illness response procedures were available
- No bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat foods was observed
- Approved food sources were used
Beijing One Summary
Beijing One Inc.’s inspection revealed operational and sanitation deficiencies, particularly related to temperature control, food storage, labeling, and facility maintenance. While several violations were corrected during the inspection, others require follow-up verification by early February.
Inspectors noted management cooperation throughout the visit, and future inspections will evaluate whether corrective actions have been fully implemented.
