Mortgage rates eased slightly as buyers closed on homes across Lynchburg and surrounding counties.
Real estate activity across Greater Lynchburg continued this week, with transactions recorded across several neighborhoods and surrounding counties. Four home sales exceeded $500,000, including two in the City of Lynchburg and two in Bedford County. Building permits also reflected ongoing construction and renovation activity across the region. With mortgage rates drifting slightly lower in recent weeks, it will be worth watching whether buyer activity begins to increase as the spring market approaches.
In the City of Lynchburg, the highest recorded transaction was Lot 9, Bethel Estates – LD Cyrus Builders Inc. to Yoonah Kim for $790,000. Sellers were represented by Jane Blickenstaff with Blickenstaff & Company Realtors.

Another notable sale was Lot 12, Section 3, Oak Grove Place AKA 4780 John Scott Dr. – Tara R. Venning to Laura G. and Juergen R. Grutz for $510,000. Sellers were represented by Karenna Bays Stutzman and Julie Bays with ReMax Lakefront Realty.

Also among the top transactions was Lot 15, Wildwind Subdivision – Adam Karol to Jason and Susan Williamson for $480,000. These sales reflect demand for newer residential developments and upscale housing within the city.

Bedford County recorded the largest transaction in the region with the sale of New Lot 132A, Section 3, Village East – Erik S. and Rebecca R. Moden to Bryce Matthew and Elissa Marie Whited for $1.3 million. Sellers were represented by Casey Johnson with ReMax Lakefront Realty Inc.
