Greater Lynchburg Real Estate Market Fueled by Luxury Sales and New Development

The Greater Lynchburg real estate market remained active with a mix of luxury home sales, residential development and commercial investment across Lynchburg and the surrounding counties. Despite the City of Lynchburg not posting any sales>$500,000, Bedford County led the region with five of the largest transactions of the reporting period, while Amherst, Appomattox and Campbell counties also recorded notable sales. Building permit activity showed continued confidence in housing growth and property improvements throughout the area.

In Lynchburg, the largest residential transaction was Lot 75 in Heritage at Wyndhurst, where William T. and Pleasant C. Hughes sold to Stephen T. Weaver and Donna M. Weaver for $348,000. Another notable sale occurred in The Stonemill, where Carol L. Kendall purchased Lot 54, Phase II from Delia Byrd Staton for $320,000. Also among the city’s top transactions was 816 Spring St., where Reese S. Rice and John R. Pierce purchased the property from Mica Mack Stramel Jr. for $307,500. Additional activity across Lynchburg included transactions on Belmont Street, Toledo Avenue and Meadowbrook Road, highlighting steady demand throughout the city.
