Home Front: Greater Lynchburg Real Estate Transactions

The Greater Lynchburg area continued to show movement in recent weeks, with a mix of luxury home sales, mid-range properties, and new construction projects spread across Lynchburg and its surrounding counties. From high-value commercial transactions on Boonsboro Road to expansive rural properties in Bedford and Campbell counties, the market reflected demand and regional growth. Building permits also indicated continued investment in residential and commercial development across the area.

In the City of Lynchburg, the highest-priced property was 4235 and 4239 Boonsboro Road, sold by Foster Fuels Acquisition LLC to Devi Than & Co. Property Holdings LLC for $708,750. Another notable sale was 5900 Boonsboro Road, purchased by Daniel E. and Jacqueline M. Davis for $402,900. Several condominium units in The Crown at Cornerstone also changed hands, including Unit 304, which sold for $362,500, showing continued interest in upscale townhome living.

In Bedford County, top sales reflected the area’s appeal for larger homes and scenic settings. The most expensive property was 609 Lake Vista Drive, represented by Glenn Whorley of Century 21 All-Service. David Brian Wood sold the home to Barbara Hayley for $650,000, followed by Lot 2, Elk View, which sold for $625,000. Another significant sale included Lot 1,

Everett View Subdivision, at $550,000, signaling a potentially upper market for lake and mountain-view properties.

Amherst County saw its highest transaction at 320 Waughs Ferry Road, where Michael and Sandra Dietrich sold to Joan Lingerfelt for $642,000. Other major sales included 238 My Way at $369,900 and a 4.91-acre parcel on VA 726 for $360,000.

Appomattox County recorded a top sale of Lot 5, Woodchase Subdivision, where Jonathan Bloomfield sold to Aaron and Emily Baughan for $560,000. Bloomfield was represented by Shannon Sims with Keller Williams Lynchburg. Another high-value transaction was Lot 34, Cannon Oaks Subdivision, which brought $283,000.

In Campbell County, the top three sales were 476 Mantle Drive for $424,900, Parcel VA 696 (20.07 acres) for $414,000, and 3710 Village Highway and three additional parcels for $410,000.

Building permits across the region reflected robust construction and renovation projects. The largest was for apartments at 363 English Commons Drive, valued at $2.4 million. Other major permits included a new dwelling on N. Lake Drive for $1.29 million and several new homes on Armistead and Meadowbrook Lanes, each exceeding $400,000.
