Lamanna Leads JF Victory; Mason Fires 32 as Halifax Tops Glass, LCA

Jefferson Forest takes the first three spots in a four-team match at London Downs, while Halifax defends its home course in Tuesday's other high school golf action.

Tuesday — Seminole District Match at London Downs

Jefferson Forest swept the top three individual spots Tuesday afternoon on the way to a convincing victory in a four-team Seminole District match hosted by Brookville at London Downs Golf Club.

The Cavaliers posted a four-player score of 156, finishing 15 shots ahead of runner-up Brookville at 171. Heritage finished third at 181, followed by Liberty at 187.

Jefferson Forest senior Conner Lamanna earned medalist honors with an even-par 36, continuing his strong season. Teammate Will Carson finished two shots back with a 38, while Angela Liu completed a JF sweep of the top three with a 39.

Jackson Maschal and J.P. Newman led Brookville with matching 41s. Heritage was paced by Lucas Takacs' 42, while Jayce Macaioni led Liberty with a 43.

Tuesday—Halifax Tops Glass, LCA at Home

In three of South-Central Virginia High School golf teams, Halifax County successfully defended its home course Tuesday, posting a 143 to defeat E.C. Glass and Liberty Christian in a three-team match at Halifax Country Club.

Owen Mason fired a 3-under-par 32 to earn medalist honors in the match, which was limited to nine holes because of the heat. E.C. Glass finished second at 150, while LCA posted a 152.

Mason's performance continues a strong start to the season. He previously shot a 69 at the John Scott Memorial at London Downs, finishing two strokes behind Amherst County's Caitlyn Baxter.

Glass placed two golfers just three shots behind Mason, with Nikko Guanzon and John Sorenson each shooting 35.

LCA was led by Tanner Hesse and Ripkin Collings, who both finished at 36.
