From mini golf and retro arcade games to downtown desserts and free outings, a night out doesn't have to break the budget.
Date Night on a Budget: 7 Lynchburg Ideas for $50 or Less
1. Play a round of mini golf
Head to Tiny Town Golf on Timberlake Road for a classic mini-golf date. A round is currently $10 per person, putting the activity at just $20 for two. For an extra dose of fun, check out the glow golf offered on Friday and Saturday nights.
2. Make your own double feature
Skip the expensive dinner and grab inexpensive takeout before settling in for a movie at home. Pick a theme—90s rom-coms, childhood favorites, or movies neither of you has seen—and make the night feel like an event with popcorn, candy, and your favorite drinks. Total cost: whatever you spend on takeout and snacks.I

3. Dinner and dessert downtown
Start with an affordable dinner at a local restaurant such as Uno Mas, where tacos and other Mexican-inspired dishes make it possible to keep dinner inexpensive. Then take a stroll downtown and split a sweet treat at MayLynn’s Creamery Downtown. With some menu planning and one shared dessert, you can easily stay around the $50 mark.

4. Go retro at Super Rad
Channel your inner teenager at Super Rad Arcade Bar in downtown Lynchburg. The retro arcade features classic games, pinball, and plenty of nostalgia, making it an easy way to turn a regular night out into something more playful. Check the event calendar for live music and themed nights, too. With its arcade-and-bar setup, couples can make an evening of it without spending a fortune.
5. Go bowling
Grab your bowling shoes and settle in for some friendly competition at Fort Hill Bowling Center or AMF Lynchburg Lanes. Check current lane and shoe-rental prices before heading out, as rates and specials can vary.
6. Have a dessert date
Sometimes you don't need dinner at all. Meet up for coffee at Golf Park, get something sweet at Cinn City, or grab ice cream at Outside the Cone. Split a couple of treats, sit and talk, and you have a date for less than the cost of a full meal.

7. Take a free Lynchburg date
Put on comfortable shoes and take a walk together through one of Lynchburg's scenic areas, explore downtown or check out the city's LOVEworks. Finish the evening with an inexpensive dessert or coffee. The activity itself costs nothing, leaving most of your $50 budget for food.
