Real Estate Sales and Building Activity Strong Across Greater Lynchburg

The Greater Lynchburg area saw another active period in real estate, with notable home and land sales across the city and surrounding counties, as well as steady building permit activity that highlights both residential and commercial investment.

In the City of Lynchburg, the most expensive sale was a $875,000 transaction for multiple parcels on Royal Court, where Catherine K. and Chalmers M. Nunn Jr. sold to Michael and Sandra Harter. Nunn was represented by Daniele Mason with Blickenstaff & Company Realtors.

Following closely, Mosby G. and Holly W. Perrow sold a Peakland Plan A property for $660,000 to Graham and Karen Bouchoux, trustees. Perrow was represented by Kensie Walker Johnson with John Stewart Walker

Other strong sales included William and Suan Norris selling 3331 Woodridge Place for $368,000 and David J. Wilson transferring two Radcliff Addition lots for $320,000.

Amherst County’s top deal was a 158.75-acre parcel on Puppy Creek Road, sold by Jody W. Forrest to Harold and Barbara Lloyd for $649,106.70.

Another notable sale was Edwin L. Falls selling 2350 S. Amherst Highway to Guy and Karen Green for $400,000. Additional transactions included Robert, Rhonda, and Robin Ramsey transferring land on Woodvue Drive to JRMO, Inc. for $300,000.

In Appomattox County, Cameron and Salina Taylor sold land in Country Haven Estates to Appalachian Power Company for $425,000, the top sale in the county. Joshua E. Amos followed with the sale of a 174.54-acre parcel on Liberty Chapel Road for $375,000 to William J. and Tricia M. Barber Jr. Another high-dollar sale came when Jonathan T. Martin sold 2180 Lime Plant Road to Patricia W. Warfield for $325,000.

Bedford County recorded one of the strongest sales in the region, with B. Shannon and Theresa B. Cobb selling a Ridge Crest property for $765,000 to Lindsay and Cory Emswiler. Cobb's were represented by Casey Johnson with Re/Max Lakefront Realty

Geroge and Nancy Lewis also sold a Village East property for $715,500 to Brian and Karen Mikels, while Kacey Jefferson sold a Mountain View Estates home for $610,000 to Brian and Ellie Landry.

Campbell County topped the charts with the largest transaction in the area, as James and Robert Proffitt sold 11382 Wards Road to Trinity Strawberry Juice Holdings LLC for $875,000. Other high-value sales included Thomas J. Aub selling 420 Cresthill Road for $501,500 and Genelda W. Mayberry selling a Country Haven Estates lot to Appalachian Power Company for $500,000.

Building permit activity was also strong, with Campbell County recording several significant new dwellings, including two $335,000 homes by H&S Holding Properties on Down Creek Road and two $300,000 homes by Luke 10:27 LLC in Zion Place. Additions and renovations included a $200,000 apartment project on Sunburst Road, a $120,000 addition on Arbor Place, and a $110,000 addition on Waller Lane. Churches and commercial properties also invested, with Hill Creek Baptist Church completing a $92,000 restroom project and Centra Health adding signage at two Simons Run locations.
