E.C. Glass Rolls at Bedford, Jefferson Forest Edges Brookville at Hat Creek

Guanzon and Lamanna each fire 35 as Glass wins by 22 shots and Jefferson Forest takes a two-shot victory.

E.C. Glass and Jefferson Forest picked up victories Wednesday as Greater Lynchburg teams competed in a pair of four-team matches at Bedford Country Club and Hat Creek Golf Course.

The Hilltoppers turned in the day's most dominant team performance, posting a four-player score of 147 at Bedford Country Club to finish 22 shots ahead of Amherst County and host Liberty-Bedford, which tied for second at 169. Heritage finished fourth at 195.

Nikko Guanzon earned medalist honors with a 35, continuing his strong season for E.C. Glass. Preston Laughon and Bax Wolanski each added 37s, giving the Hilltoppers three counting scores of 37 or better.

Amherst County's Caitlyn Baxter finished one shot back with a 36, while Jayce Macaioni led Liberty-Bedford with a 37.

At Hat Creek, the finish was much tighter.

Jefferson Forest posted a 153 to edge Brookville by two shots. Brookville finished at 155, followed by Liberty Christian at 164 and Rustburg at 178. LCA competed with a somewhat different lineup Wednesday after several of its players who competed in a 20-team tournament at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club the previous day, did not play on Wednesday.

Connor Lamanna led Jefferson Forest and earned medalist honors with a 35. LCA's Ripkin Colling was one shot back with a 36, while Jefferson Forest's Angelo Lis shot 37.
