E.C. Glass Wins Seminole District Match at Ivy Hill; Guanzon Shoots 69

Just when Liberty Christian looked like the team to beat, E.C. Glass made an early-season statement yesterday.

The Hilltoppers captured the four-team Seminole District match at Ivy Hill Golf Club with a team score of 295, finishing 20 shots ahead of host Jefferson Forest and 26 shots ahead of LCA.

Rising Junior Nikko Guanzon led the Hilltoppers and the entire field with a 3-under-par 69 to earn medalist honors.

Jefferson Forest senior Conner Lamanna continued his strong start to the season, finishing one shot behind Guanzon with a 2-under 70. E.C. Glass' Preston Laughon shot even-par 72 and teammate John Sorenson added a 73, giving the Hilltoppers three of the day's four lowest individual scores.

Jefferson Forest finished second with a team score of 315, followed by Liberty Christian at 321 and Brookville at 359.

The match was interrupted by a 50-minute weather delay.
