LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices moved sharply lower in Lynchburg this week, reversing several weeks of increases as nearly every market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda recorded a decline.
According to a late Monday snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.39 per gallon for regular gasoline, down 30 cents from last week. Amherst held steady at $3.89, while Appomattox declined five cents to $3.77, Bedford fell six cents to $3.57, and Rustburg dropped four cents to $3.79.
Across Virginia, every market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda posted lower prices. Alexandria remained the highest-priced market at $3.79 per gallon, despite a seven-cent decline. Charlottesville recorded the week's largest decrease among the Virginia markets surveyed, falling 28 cents to $3.39. Danville dropped 29 cents to $3.25, Richmond fell 22 cents to $3.35, Roanoke declined 20 cents to $3.37, and Virginia Beach decreased 10 cents to $3.49.
The 30-cent decline returned Lynchburg to the lower end of the markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Only Danville, Richmond and Roanoke posted lower averages this week, while Charlottesville matched Lynchburg at $3.39 per gallon.
