Lynchburg Gas Prices Decline; AAA Average Falls to $3.90

GasBuddy reports Lynchburg's lowest regular gasoline price at $3.69, while AAA shows the metro average down seven cents from last week

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices continued moving lower across Greater Lynchburg this week, with the City of Lynchburg's lowest reported price dropping 10 cents per gallon and AAA reporting a decline in the metropolitan area's average.

According to a Monday afternoon snapshot from GasBuddy, the lowest reported price for regular gasoline in Lynchburg was $3.69 per gallon, down from $3.79 last week.

Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Appomattox recorded the largest decline, falling 10 cents to $3.84 per gallon. Bedford also dropped 10 cents to $3.69, while Rustburg declined 10 cents to $3.87. Amherst remained unchanged at $3.99, the highest minimum reported price among the five Greater Lynchburg markets surveyed.

Prices were mixed among the other Virginia markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Charlottesville declined 12 cents to $3.83 per gallon, while Danville dropped four cents to $3.59. Norfolk fell 13 cents to $3.84, and Richmond increased 15 cents to $3.79.

Alexandria remained unchanged at $3.89, while Roanoke held steady at $3.72.

Among all markets surveyed, Amherst had the highest minimum reported price at $3.99 per gallon, followed by Alexandria at $3.89. Danville had the lowest reported price at $3.59, followed by Lynchburg and Bedford at $3.69.

AAA: Lynchburg Metro Average Falls to $3.90

While GasBuddy tracks individual station prices, AAA provides a broader view of gasoline costs across the Lynchburg metropolitan area.

AAA reported an average regular gasoline price of $3.90 per gallon Monday, down approximately seven cents from $3.97 a week ago.

The average has also declined 26 cents over the past month, falling from $4.16. However, gasoline remains considerably more expensive than a year ago, when the metropolitan average was $2.82 per gallon.

AAA's current average is approximately 21 cents higher than Lynchburg's lowest reported price of $3.69, illustrating the difference between an individual station's low price and the broader metropolitan market.
