Four Lynchburg Gas Stations Drop to $3.33, Down 53 Cents from Last Week

According to Gas Buddy, two Sheetz locations, Sam’s Club and Wawa offer the lowest reported price, while Amherst remains above $4 per gallon.

LYNCHBURG, Va. — LYNCHBURG, Va. — The lowest reported price for regular gasoline in Lynchburg dropped 53 cents this week to $3.33 per gallon, with four stations along Wards Road offering that price Monday morning, according to GasBuddy.

Two Sheetz locations, Sam's Club and Wawa were tied at $3.33, while the next-lowest reported price was $3.79 at Marathon, a difference of 46 cents per gallon.

According to a Monday morning snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.33 per gallon for regular gasoline, down from last week's $3.86. The decline was the largest among the markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda.

Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Amherst declined 18 cents to $4.09 per gallon, while Appomattox fell nine cents to $3.98, moving back below the $4 mark. Bedford slipped three cents to $3.84. No updated average was available for Rustburg.

Prices were mixed among the other Virginia markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Richmond recorded a 25-cent decline to $3.64 per gallon, while Roanoke fell 13 cents to $3.73. Alexandria declined 10 cents to $4.09, and Danville dropped eight cents to $3.73.

Charlottesville moved in the opposite direction, climbing eight cents to $4.07 per gallon, while Norfolk increased six cents to $3.93.

Amherst remained the highest-priced Greater Lynchburg market with a reported average at $4.09 per gallon, followed by Appomattox at $3.98 and Bedford at $3.84. Lynchburg's $3.33 average was the lowest among all markets tracked, 76 cents below Amherst.

Among the Virginia markets surveyed, Amherst and Alexandria shared the highest average at $4.09 per gallon, followed by Charlottesville at $4.07. Lynchburg had the lowest average at $3.33, followed by Richmond at $3.64.
