Two experienced educators will assume principal positions July 1 while E.C. Glass High School moves forward with an interim leader after April Goff withdrew from the position.
LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg City School Board has approved the appointment of two principals for the 2026-27 school year, effective July 1. The appointments include Dr. Laura Morrison-Hussein as principal of Perrymont Elementary School and Jeremy Hutchinson as principal of Hutcherson Academy.
E.C. Glass High School
The appointments coincided with the withdrawal of April Goff, who had previously accepted the principal position at E.C. Glass High School. Lynchburg City Schools announced the change one day after its original leadership announcement.

Goff most recently served as principal of Southern Wake Academy in North Carolina. Her previous experience includes roles as an assistant principal, director of Career and Technical Education, and coach. She began her career in education as a teacher with Campbell County Public Schools.
Following Goff's withdrawal, Dr. Susan Badger will serve as interim principal of E.C. Glass High School beginning in July. She has served as an assistant principal at E.C. Glass since 2023 and previously held administrative positions with Danville Public Schools as an assistant principal and Franklin County Public Schools as a division coordinator.
Lynchburg City Schools said additional information regarding the process for selecting a permanent principal for E.C. Glass High School will be announced this fall.
Perrymont Elementary School
Dr. Morrison-Hussein will assume leadership of Perrymont Elementary School after more than 25 years in education.

Most recently, she served in senior leadership positions with the Department of Defense Education Activity, a global school system serving military-connected students across the United States, Europe and the Pacific. She also served as principal at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and has held leadership roles at the elementary, middle and district levels.
Hutcherson Academy
Jeremy Hutchinson has been selected to lead Hutcherson Academy, Lynchburg City Schools' Pre-Kindergarten program. He brings 17 years of educational experience, including the past decade as an administrator at Madison Heights Elementary School in Amherst County Public Schools.

Madison Heights Elementary serves as the Pre-K hub for the southern portion of Amherst County, providing Hutchinson with extensive experience in early childhood education and administration.
Lynchburg City Schools officials said they look forward to welcoming the new principals and the leadership they will bring to students, staff and families throughout the division.
