Inspectors cited numerous issues involving food handling, handwashing accessibility, cross-contamination prevention, sanitizer concentrations, and warewashing equipment. Employees were observed handling different raw animal products without changing gloves, while raw chicken was stored above ready-to-eat foods. Inspectors also noted missing date labels, inadequate sanitizer levels, consumer advisory deficiencies on the menu, and a dish machine unable to reach proper sanitizing temperatures. Several corrective actions were completed during the inspection, with follow-up visits scheduled.
Graziano’s — Forest
Violations: 11 (May 1)
Graziano’s posted the second-highest total this week. Inspectors documented multiple temperature-control concerns involving deli meats, cheeses, cannoli cream, greens, and cheesecakes being held above safe cold temperatures. Additional violations included missing date labels, inadequate sanitizer levels in the dish machine, missing thermometers in refrigeration units, food stored on the floor, and a lack of employee health policy documentation. Several refrigeration units and the dish machine were flagged for repair or further assessment.
Big Lick Tropical Grill — Lynchburg
Violations: 8 (April 30)
Big Lick Tropical Grill rounded out the highest totals this week with eight violations during a routine inspection.
