LYNCHBURG, Va. — Every Lynchburg City Schools student will be able to eat breakfast and lunch at school for free during the 2026-27 school year, with no application or household income qualification required.
The school division announced that all of its schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision, a federal program that allows eligible schools and school districts to provide meals to all students at no charge.
Under the program, students will be offered a free breakfast and lunch each school day throughout the upcoming school year.
Families do not need to complete an application for their children to participate.
The Community Eligibility Provision was established under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 and is administered through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs.
