Downtown Lynchburg to Celebrate Reopening of Main Street with Ribbon Cutting

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Downtown Lynchburg Association, in partnership with the City of Lynchburg, Lynchburg Water Resources and Jamerson-Lewis Construction, will celebrate the completion of the Main Street East – Downtown Renewal Project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on TODAY Tuesday, July 21.

The project renewed utility infrastructure and streetscapes along Main Street between 12th Street and the Lynchburg Expressway, improving one of the primary gateways into Downtown Lynchburg.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Lynchburg Community Market, 1219 Main St. Community members are invited to attend and celebrate the completion of the project and the reopening of Main Street.

Scheduled speakers include Downtown Lynchburg Association Executive Director Stacy Garrett, Lynchburg Water Resources Director Tim Mitchell, and Jamerson-Lewis Construction Vice President Clu Pettyjohn.

The Downtown Renewal Project was made possible through the partnership of the City of Lynchburg, Lynchburg Water Resources, the Downtown Lynchburg Association, Jamerson-Lewis Construction, and the cooperation of downtown businesses and property owners throughout construction.
