Gas Prices Climb Again; Three Lynchburg-Area Markets Top $4

Prices rise in every market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, with Amherst reaching $4.25 and Appomattox jumping 16 cents

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices resumed their climb across Greater Lynchburg and Virginia this week, with every regular-gas market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda recording an increase.

According to a Monday afternoon snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.93 per gallon for regular gasoline, up six cents from last week's $3.87.

Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Appomattox recorded the week's largest increase, jumping 16 cents to $4.14 per gallon. Rustburg climbed 12 cents to $4.17, Amherst increased eight cents to $4.25, and Bedford rose six cents to $3.93.

The increases were also widespread among the other Virginia markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Roanoke posted the largest jump, rising 10 cents to $4.04 per gallon. Alexandria increased eight cents to $4.17, Charlottesville rose eight cents to $4.13, and Virginia Beach climbed eight cents to $3.97.

Danville increased four cents to $3.83, while Richmond edged up one cent to $3.93.

Amherst remained the highest-priced Greater Lynchburg market at $4.25 per gallon, followed by Rustburg at $4.17 and Appomattox at $4.14. Lynchburg and Bedford shared the area's lowest average at $3.93.

Among all markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, Amherst had the highest average at $4.25 per gallon, followed by Alexandria and Rustburg at $4.17 and Appomattox at $4.14. Danville remained the lowest at $3.83.
