Prices fall in nine of 11 markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, while Amherst and Rustburg remain above $4 per gallon
LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices moved sharply lower across much of Greater Lynchburg and Virginia this week, reversing last week's widespread increases as nine of the 11 regular-gas markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda recorded declines.
According to a Monday afternoon snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.76 per gallon for regular gasoline, down 17 cents from last week's $3.93.
Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Appomattox recorded the week's largest decline, falling 15 cents to $3.99 per gallon and moving back below the $4 mark. Bedford dropped four cents to $3.89, while Amherst remained unchanged at $4.25 and Rustburg held steady at $4.17.
Prices also moved lower in every other Virginia market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Richmond posted the week's largest decline, falling 27 cents to $3.66 per gallon. Charlottesville dropped 24 cents to $3.89, Roanoke declined 20 cents to $3.84, and Virginia Beach fell 10 cents to $3.87.
Danville declined 10 cents to $3.73, while Alexandria dropped 12 cents to $4.05.
Amherst remained the highest-priced Greater Lynchburg market at $4.25 per gallon, followed by Rustburg at $4.17. Appomattox stood just below the $4 mark at $3.99, while Lynchburg had the area's lowest average at $3.76.
Among all markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, Amherst had the highest average at $4.25 per gallon, followed by Rustburg at $4.17 and Alexandria at $4.05. Richmond had the lowest average at $3.66.
