Horizon Behavioral Health, Lynchburg Police to Host Overdose Awareness Briefing Monday

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Horizon Behavioral Health and the Lynchburg Police Department will host an International Overdose Awareness Day Community Briefing Monday, Aug. 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Lynchburg Police Department, 3405 Odd Fellows Road.

The briefing is open to the public and will focus on remembering lives lost to overdose, recognizing progress in the Greater Lynchburg community and highlighting continued efforts in prevention, emergency response, treatment and recovery.

International Overdose Awareness Day is the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those who have died and acknowledge the grief of families and friends left behind.

Community leaders and other scheduled speakers will take part in Monday's briefing.
