As personal property tax bills arrive in mailboxes in early October, the Treasurer’s Office has launched a new payment portal.
The updated platform offers two payment options: Bank Transfer (ACH) or credit card with a low flat fee of no more than $7.

Fall brush collection starts October 15 and continues through November 15.
Residential yard waste (limbs, branches, leaves) will be accepted at one of Bedford County's eight full-service waste collection centers.

Early, in-person voting for the 2025 Gubernatorial Election continues this month.
Early voting is held at the Bedford County Gym (1059 Turning Point Rd., Bedford). Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, October 25, and Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bedford County administrative offices will be closed on Monday, October 13, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday.
The Waste Management Facility and gated waste collection centers will be open. The Bedford Area Welcome Center will also be open.
New applications for Bedford County’s Land Use program are due to the Commissioner’s Office by November 3, 2025.
An application will be required to enter a parcel into the program for the first time or if a change has been made during 2025 to a parcel that is currently participating in the program.
The 2025 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship will take place in Bedford County October 16-29, 2025.
Athletes will play at Bedford County’s New London Tech Disc Golf Course and Ivy Hill Golf Course

Parks & Recreation basketball registration is now underway through Oct. 31, 2025.
Ages 5-18 can play, and registration is $40 per player.

The fun starts at 4 p.m. Trick or treat from various community vendors and enjoy kids’ activities. This is a free event.
