Week in Review: September 14-20

Business aviation remained active at Lynchburg Regional Airport during the past week, with a diverse mix of locally based and transient jets, Cirrus Vision Jets, turboprops, military and government traffic, and regional medical helicopter activity.

NetJets aircraft were particularly noticeable late in the week, with a Citation Sovereign visiting Thursday, Challenger 350s on Friday and Saturday, and a Global 7500 and another Challenger 350 on Sunday. Cirrus Vision Jets also made repeated appearances throughout the week, while other notable aircraft included a Hawker 800XP, Learjet 60, Flexjet Phenom 300s and several Pilatus and King Air turboprops.

Sunday produced one of the week's strongest lineups of business aircraft, highlighted by the Global 7500's visit between Winston-Salem and Teterboro. Military and government activity included flights operating as KBAR07 and Army Priority Air Transport PAT66. PHI Health's Airbus EC135 N390PH also remained active throughout the week on medical flights involving hospitals across Virginia.

Sunday, September 20

Flight Notes: Sunday brought one of the week's strongest lineups of business aircraft to Lynchburg Regional, led by a NetJets Global 7500, along with a Flexjet Phenom 300, a Phenom 100, Learjet 60, King Air 200 and TBM.

The Global 7500 arrived from Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem early in the afternoon and remained in Lynchburg for nearly four hours before departing for Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.

Flexjet Phenom 300 LXJ355 arrived from Philadelphia and continued to Quincy, Illinois, while Phenom 100 N771SS arrived from Newnan, Georgia, before departing for Wayne County Airport in Ohio. Learjet 60 JTL52, which had arrived Saturday from Westchester County, departed Sunday for Midland, Texas.

Sunday also included Army Priority Air Transport flight PAT66, which arrived from Concord, New Hampshire, and departed for Dothan, Alabama. PHI Health's Airbus EC135 N390PH remained active on regional medical flights. A NetJets Challenger 350 arrived from Washington Dulles Sunday evening.

Flight Notes: Saturday's lighter overall airport activity still produced a strong mix of private aviation, including a NetJets Challenger 350, a Learjet 60, a Pilatus PC-12 and multiple Cirrus Vision Jets.

A NetJets Challenger 350 arrived from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey during the morning and returned there four hours later. Gateway's Pilatus PC-12 arrived from the St. Louis area and continued to Little Rock, Arkansas, while Learjet 60 JTL52 arrived from Westchester County Airport in New York.

Vision Jets were particularly noticeable. N20TW arrived from the Atlanta area, N44CV arrived from Maryland's Eastern Shore, and N427AG departed during the evening for Indianapolis. N44CV later departed for Myles Landing in Maryland.

PHI Health's Airbus EC135 N390PH also continued its regional medical activity involving Lynchburg General Hospital.

Flight Notes: Friday brought several notable business-jet visits to Lynchburg, highlighted by a NetJets Challenger 350, a Hawker 800XP, two Cirrus Vision Jets and a long-distance trip by locally based Citation II N704DA.

N704DA departed Lynchburg shortly before 7 a.m. for Alexandria, Louisiana, and returned during the afternoon from Piedmont Triad International Airport.

Hawker 800XP N343SC arrived from Tri-Cities Airport in Tennessee and continued shortly afterward to Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem. A NetJets Challenger 350 arrived from Leesburg and departed for Washington Dulles.
