Lynchburg Gas Prices Level Off After Weeks of Increases

Lynchburg edges up two cents to $3.87, while Amherst holds at $4.17 and prices remain above $4 in several markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices showed signs of stabilizing across Greater Lynchburg this week after several weeks of increases, with two local markets unchanged, two posting slight declines and the City of Lynchburg edging higher.

According to a Monday morning snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.87 per gallon for regular gasoline, up two cents from last week's $3.85.

Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Amherst remained unchanged at $4.17 per gallon, continuing to have the highest average among local markets. Bedford also held steady at $3.87, while Appomattox slipped one cent to $3.98 and Rustburg declined two cents to $4.05.

Prices were more mixed among the other Virginia markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Alexandria climbed 10 cents to $4.09 per gallon, while Roanoke increased six cents to $3.94. Richmond rose three cents to $3.92, and Danville increased two cents to $3.79.

Charlottesville declined four cents to $4.05 per gallon, while Virginia Beach remained unchanged at $3.89.

Amherst remained the highest-priced Greater Lynchburg market at $4.17 per gallon, followed by Rustburg at $4.05. Appomattox remained just below the $4 mark at $3.98, while Lynchburg and Bedford shared the area's lowest average at $3.87.

Among all markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, Amherst had the highest average at $4.17 per gallon, followed by Alexandria at $4.09, with Charlottesville and Rustburg both at $4.05. Danville remained the lowest at $3.79.
