Prices rise in nearly every market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, with Lynchburg reaching $3.73 and Roanoke climbing 24 cents
LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices moved sharply higher across much of Virginia this week, with the City of Lynchburg climbing 21 cents per gallon and nearly every market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda posting an increase.
According to a Monday afternoon snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.73 per gallon for regular gasoline, up 21 cents from $3.52 last week.
Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Amherst remained unchanged at $3.89 per gallon, while Appomattox rose seven cents to $3.82, Bedford increased 10 cents to $3.66 and Rustburg held steady at $3.77.
The increases were even more widespread among the other Virginia markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Roanoke recorded the week's largest jump, rising 24 cents to $3.59 per gallon. Richmond increased 22 cents to $3.57, while Virginia Beach climbed 23 cents to $3.65.
Alexandria rose seven cents to $3.86, while Charlottesville posted a sharp increase of 40 cents to $3.79. Danville was the exception, remaining unchanged at $3.48.
The increases pushed Lynchburg to $3.73 per gallon, 38 cents higher than its $3.35 average two weeks ago. Amherst remained the highest-priced Greater Lynchburg market at $3.89, while Bedford had the area's lowest average at $3.66.
Among all markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, Amherst had the highest average at $3.89 per gallon, followed by Alexandria at $3.86. Danville remained the lowest at $3.48.
