LYNCHBURG, Va. — After a few weeks of declining gasoline prices, motorists across Greater Lynchburg saw prices move higher this week, with most local markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda posting increases compared to last Monday.
According to a Monday evening snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.29 per gallon for regular gasoline, up 10 cents from last week's $3.19. Amherst climbed to $3.59, while Appomattox rose to $3.43, Bedford increased to $3.42, and Rustburg reached $3.47 per gallon.
The increase wasn't limited to Central Virginia. All six statewide markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda also recorded higher prices compared with a week ago. Alexandria remained the state's highest-priced market at $3.75 per gallon for regular gasoline, followed by Charlottesville ($3.49), Virginia Beach ($3.39), Roanoke ($3.34), Richmond ($3.33) and Danville ($3.27).
Despite this week's increase, Lynchburg continues to rank among Virginia's lower-priced markets, with the city's average remaining below most areas tracked in the weekly survey.
