LCS Online Registration for 2026–27 School Year

Families are encouraged to register early to ensure a smooth start to the school year.

(LYNCHBURG, VA) – Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) is encouraging all families with school-aged children to complete Online Registration for the 2026-27 school year. Registering early helps ensure class sizes are evenly distributed and bus schedules are determined well in advance of next school year. 

Registration for Grades 1-12

Current families and families new to LCS can register for the next school year by completing three easy steps:

1. Complete Online Registration by visiting www.lcsedu.net.
2. Provide Necessary Documents: Upload proof of residency documents and necessary immunization records during Online Registration or bring them to their child’s school.
3. Attend Enrollment Day on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.

Kindergarten Registration

Starting with the 2026-27 school year, any student who did not attend pre-kindergarten at LCS will be required to complete a brief screening assessment before starting kindergarten. 

Screenings will be held:

• Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Friday, June 12, 2026, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Parents or guardians can call their child’s base elementary school to schedule a thirty-minute appointment. School phone numbers can be found here. Those who are unavailable on these dates should contact their child’s school.
