The Central Virginia Health District reported 35 inspections across the region this week, with a mix of routine visits, follow-ups, and pre-opening inspections.
Routine inspections again showed generally solid performance, though a handful of higher-count reports pushed the upper end of the range.

🔴 Highest Violation Totals This Week
Kenny’s Restaurant — Lynchburg
Violations: 12 (April 22)
Kenny’s Restaurant posted the highest total of the week. Inspectors cited issues including improper handwashing practices, lack of paper towels at the hand sink, temperature control problems with reheated foods, improper thawing of meat left out overnight, and a sanitizer system not functioning properly. Buildup on kitchen equipment and surfaces was also noted.
La Carreta — Madison Heights
Violations: 11 (April 22)
La Carreta recorded the second-highest total. Violations included improper food storage (raw fish over produce), temperature control issues, expired dairy products, uncovered foods, and sanitation concerns such as wet wiping cloths and improperly dried equipment. Facility maintenance issues were also observed.
Eagle Eyrie Baptist — Lynchburg area
Violations: 9 (April 24)
Eagle Eyrie Baptist rounded out the higher totals this week with nine violations reported during a routine inspection.
Follow-Up Inspections
Follow-up visits were conducted at:
Pizza Hut, Saigon Kitchen, LongHorn Steakhouse, Asian Fusion, Monte Carlo, Reber Thomas, Owens Market, Lola’s, Kratos Performance, Papa Johns, and The Village Deli.
Pre-Opening Inspections
Pre-opening inspections were completed for: Carnitas La Family, Lone Star, Centra Behavioral, and Beale’s Beer.
Weekly Takeaway
Another solid week overall, with most establishments landing at four violations or fewer. As in prior weeks, higher violation totals were limited to a small number of locations, driving the upper end of the range.
