Prices rise in nearly every market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, with Amherst jumping 20 cents and Lynchburg edging up to $3.75
LYNCHBURG, Va. — Gasoline prices moved higher across Greater Lynchburg and Virginia this week, with all but one of the regular-gas markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda recording an increase.
According to a Monday afternoon snapshot from GasBuddy, the City of Lynchburg averaged $3.75 per gallon for regular gasoline, up two cents from last week's $3.73.
Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, Amherst recorded the week's largest local increase, jumping 20 cents to $4.09 per gallon and becoming the only market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda above the $4 mark. Bedford climbed 12 cents to $3.75, Rustburg increased 10 cents to $3.87, while Appomattox remained unchanged at $3.79.
Prices also increased in every other Virginia market tracked by Lynchburg Agenda. Danville posted the largest increase, climbing 14 cents to $3.67 per gallon. Alexandria rose 10 cents to $3.89, Charlottesville increased eight cents to $3.75, and Richmond climbed seven cents to $3.64.
Roanoke increased five cents to $3.59, while Virginia Beach also rose five cents to $3.69.
Amherst remained the highest-priced Greater Lynchburg market at $4.09 per gallon, 34 cents higher than both Lynchburg and Bedford. Bedford and Lynchburg shared the area's lowest average at $3.75.
Among all markets tracked by Lynchburg Agenda, Amherst had the highest average at $4.09 per gallon, followed by Alexandria at $3.89 and Rustburg at $3.87. Roanoke remained the lowest at $3.59.
