Recent Health Department Pre-Opening Inspections Offer Early Look at Several New Dining Destinations Coming to the Region
A steady stream of new restaurants, cafes, dessert shops, and food concepts continue preparing to open across Greater Lynchburg, according to recent pre-opening inspections conducted by the Central Virginia Health District.
Pre-opening inspections are required before establishments can begin serving the public and often provide one of the first public indications that a new business is preparing to launch.
Among the newest concepts drawing attention are Daysie Ice Cream on Wards Road in Lynchburg and Slow Smoke Bistro on Bonneville Place, both of which recently completed pre-opening inspections.
Other recent establishments completing pre-opening reviews include:
- Ms Tina’s Off the Hook — 1205 Rivermont Ave.
- Daysie Ice Cream — 13475 Wards Road
- Slow Smoke Bistro — 20 Bonneville Place
- Carnitas La Family — 2023 Lakeside Drive
- Lone Star — 904 Main Street
- The Hot Dog Girl #2 — Bedford
- Beale’s Beer — Bedford
- Hot-Diggity-Dogs — Evington
- Pleasant Vista — Monroe
The list reflects a mix of full-service restaurants, specialty food concepts, beverage operations, and institutional dining facilities spread throughout Lynchburg, Bedford County, Amherst County, and surrounding communities.
Several names on the list are already generating local interest, particularly Daysie Ice Cream and Slow Smoke Bistro, while others represent expansions or additional locations of existing operators.
As always, completion of a pre-opening inspection does not necessarily mean an establishment is immediately open for business, but it typically signals that openings may be approaching in the near future.
