The Central Virginia Health District conducted 15 routine food inspections across Greater Lynchburg during the June 30–July 6 reporting period. Inspectors also completed seven follow-up inspections, four pre-opening inspections, two training inspections and one other inspection during the week.
Among routine inspections, Spring Oak Bedford, LLC recorded the week's highest violation total with seven, followed by Rosa's Kitchen Company and Papa John's Pizza, which each received six violations. Four routine inspections were completed without any violations.

Highest Routine Inspection Violation Totals
Spring Oak Bedford, LLC — Bedford (7 violations)
Spring Oak Bedford recorded the week's highest violation total during a routine inspection.
Inspectors cited violations involving a blocked hand sink, buildup on an ice machine deflector, an unlabeled chemical spray bottle, uncovered food stored in a freezer, soiled non-food contact equipment, an open dumpster lid and improper mop storage that prevented adequate air drying.
Several issues were corrected during the inspection, while remaining sanitation and maintenance items are expected to be addressed by facility staff.
Rosa's Kitchen Company — Lynchburg (6 violations)
The mobile food unit received six violations during a routine inspection.
Inspectors cited a blocked hand sink, improper storage of raw shell eggs above ready-to-eat foods, expired and improperly date-marked prepared foods, utensils stored where they could be contaminated by handwashing splash, and the lack of sanitizer test strips.
Several violations were corrected during the inspection, including relocating eggs, discarding expired food, adding date markings and clearing the hand sink. A follow-up inspection was scheduled for approximately July 14.
Papa John's Pizza — Madison Heights (6 violations)
Papa John's Pizza received six violations during a routine inspection.
Inspectors found the restaurant lacked a verifiable employee health policy and written procedures for responding to vomiting and diarrheal events. Additional violations included missing handwashing signage, a hand sink without soap, wet containers stacked before air drying and plumbing leaks beneath the three-compartment sink.
Management was instructed to provide documentation and verify corrections by July 16.
